Ralph Castro began learning Kenpo Karate with William Chow in 1955. He trained with him until 1958 then he moved to the mainland. He joined with Ed Parker on the mainland, who was a good friend and was in the coast guard with him in Hawaii. Ed Parker helped him setup a school and promoted him to Shodan.
